Get New Customers with Yahoo Local Listings

Adding your business to Yahoo’s listing is to me a little more rigid than Google. Yahoo offers three levels of listings:

  • Basic Listing (Free)
  • Enhanced Listing ($9.95 a month)
  • Featured Listing (starts at $24.95 and goes all the way up to $300 a month)
My suggestion is to start with the Basic or Enhanced listing and see what kind of response you get before dropping a lot of moolah on a Featured Listing.

Our video tutorial focuses on the Basic Listing which is free. The Enhanced Listing allows you to add a few extra features including pictures and stats on how many potential customers are viewing and clicking on the listing. Yahoo explains the placement advantages of the Featured Listing:

“A Featured Listing is a business listing displayed in the Sponsor Results area at the top and bottom of Yahoo! Local search results pages. Featured Listings are available for a monthly fee of $24.95 and above, based on the business category, advertising region, and page position.”

A table from Yahoo can give you a rough estimate of what you can expect to pay for a Featured Listing depending on the business category and region.
